Frequently Asked Questions
What types of therapy do you offer?
I provide individual therapy for teens and adults, as well as parent consultation and family support. My approach integrates evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and neurodiversity-affirming practices tailored to each client’s unique needs.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be helpful for anyone seeking personal growth, support, or guidance through challenges. Whether you’re managing stress, anxiety, trauma, or life transitions, therapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore what’s working—and what’s not—in your life.
What can I expect in my first session?
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to gain. It’s also a time for you to ask questions and decide if my approach feels like a good fit.
How long does therapy last?
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and needs. Some clients work with me for a few months, while others find ongoing therapy beneficial for continued growth and support. We’ll discuss progress regularly to ensure therapy continues to meet your needs.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! I offer secure telehealth sessions for clients who prefer or need to meet online. Virtual therapy provides the same level of care, privacy, and connection as in-person sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means payment is made at the time of service, and I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement through your insurance. I’m happy to guide you through that process if needed.
Why don’t you take insurance?
I believe therapy works best when it’s guided by your needs — not by insurance rules. By operating outside insurance networks, I’m able to protect your privacy, tailor sessions to you, and offer more flexibility in how we work together. Many clients find this approach leads to more meaningful, consistent progress. (See the “Services” page for a more detailed breakdown).
What are your fees and payment options?
Session rates vary depending on the type of service. I accept major credit cards and HSA/FSA cards through our secure client portal. Please contact me directly for specific rates and availability.
Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy is protected by law. What you share in therapy stays between you and your therapist, with very few exceptions related to safety or legal obligations, which we’ll review during your first session.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment through our online portal or by contacting me directly via phone or email. I’ll help you find a time that fits your schedule and answer any questions you may have before starting.
What if I’m not sure I’m ready for therapy?
That’s okay! Many people feel uncertain before starting. You’re welcome to reach out for a brief consultation to ask questions and learn more about how therapy works. There’s no pressure—just an opportunity to explore your options.
